Job Description:
As an Accounting Administrator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes. You will be responsible for various administrative tasks related to accounting and finance, assisting in maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the accounting team in day-to-day activities. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a fundamental understanding of accounting principles. The selected candidate will be required to work three days per week from our office location in Toronto.
Job Responsibilities (What You’ll Do):
- Financial Record Keeping: Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, expense reports, and general ledger entries.
- Invoice Processing: Process invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments to vendors and suppliers.
- Expense Management: Monitor and reconcile company expenses, ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines and expense policies.
- Payroll Support: Assist in payroll processing tasks, including data entry, payroll adjustments, and resolving payroll-related queries.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial reports, summaries, and statements as required by management or regulatory authorities.
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the accounting department, including filing documents, managing correspondence, and organizing financial records.
- HR Support: Provide HR support in maintaining HR records and databases and HR documentation.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software and tools proficiently to streamline processes and ensure accuracy in financial data. (Quickbooks, Microsoft Office, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications (Who You Are):
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting finance, or College Diploma in Accounting and Business Administration.
- Minimum 3 years on increasingly progressive experience in office administrative roles, with exposure to accounting functions.
- Proficiency in accounting software - Quickbooks.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive financial information.
- References required.
